3.8 Promote the development of self-regulation including teaching strategies that children can use to cope with their strong emotions.

1. Provide pictures and words of the expected behaviors on a regular basis. Review daily with children.
2. Teach children strategies for dealing with difficult situations such as teasing. Help them practice their new skills. Watch this teacher using a technique called the "teasing shield."
