1.9 Make home visits to strengthen relationships with families and gain an understanding of the child within the family context
- Use CELL’s "Interest Based Everyday Literacy Checklist" with families during home visits to determine the daily routines and traditions. Use this information to facilitate conversations around things parents can do during daily routines and activities to support their child’s interests.
Use the "Home Consultation Checklist" when families have questions or raise concerns about their child’s behavior. - Encourage families to create their own behavioral expectations at home and provide materials for them to do so.
