2.3 Plan both large and small group activities throughout each day.
Take books outdoors to provide a small literacy group activity. This can be a popular alternative to other outdoor activities as children begin to get tired and need something to self-calm. 
Provide large group activities such as songs and finger plays and shared story book reading that encourage active participation.
